African Leadership Academy Model African Union 2027

About the Conference

The African Leadership Academy Model African Union (ALAMAU) is a simulation of the African Union hosted by African Leadership Academy, a school in Johannesburg. It is the 14th annual edition and is funded by participant registration fees. It takes place from 17 to 21 March 2027 on the Academy campus in Honeydew, Johannesburg, under the theme of reclaiming the Africa We Want through auto-centric development against a new scramble for Africa. Delegates represent African Union member states in about 12 committees, which the organisers describe as simulated AU organs plus a press corps. It is meant for high school students, with school delegations and independent delegates both welcome. The organisers say it has drawn more than 1,800 delegates from over 70 nationalities since it began, and delegates arrange their own visas with invitation letters provided.
