About the Conference

AmsterMUN is an international Model United Nations conference for university students in Amsterdam. It is run by the AmsterMUN Secretariat, a committee of SIB-Amsterdam, the Dutch United Nations Student Association, and was first held in 2025 as the city's first international MUN. The second edition runs from 20 to 22 November 2026 at the Roeterseiland Campus of the University of Amsterdam, under the theme "Diplomacy Declassified". The organisers expect about 250 delegates across ten committees, with more than 20 chairs. The conference is open to university students from the Netherlands and abroad, whatever their MUN experience, and delegates are selected on motivation and background. Committees range from beginner friendly bodies such as UNODC and UNHCR to a historical Security Council, a Russian Civil War crisis and a secret Ad Hoc committee. Socials are held on the Friday and Saturday evenings, and delegate applications close on 13 November 2026.
