About the Conference

COBIS-SJSMUN is the Model United Nations conference of St. Julian's School, a British international school near Lisbon, held in partnership with COBIS, the Council of British International Schools. It is student-led and began with a junior conference in 2024, followed by its first full edition in December 2024. The third edition takes place from 3 to 5 December 2026 in Carcavelos, using two venues: the St. Julian's School campus and the Nova School of Business and Economics. The organisers expect about 350 delegates. The conference is for secondary school students aged 14 to 18, and places are open to COBIS member schools. Besides General Assembly and council committees it runs a historical Security Council, an International Court of Justice case and a futuristic crisis committee whose topic stays secret until shortly before the conference.
