International Model United Nations of BetàniaPatmos 2026

About the Conference

IMUNBP is an international Model United Nations conference for secondary school students, hosted by Escola BetàniaPatmos in Barcelona. It grew out of MUNBP, an internal school conference first organised by a small group of the school's students in 2013 for younger pupils, and it now welcomes school delegations from abroad. The 2026 edition takes place over five days, from 9 to 13 December 2026, at the school in Barcelona. It brings together more than 150 delegates across seven committees, and host families are offered for visiting students. The conference is a good fit for school delegations looking for a longer international conference in English. Recent editions drew schools from Türkiye, Hungary, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, Jordan, Croatia and Spain. The Security Council, the Disarmament and International Security Committee and a historical crisis committee are marked as advanced; the other committees suit less experienced delegates. Committees 🛡️ Security Council (De-escalating great power military tensions and preventing a naval blockade in the Taiwan Strait) 🛡️ Disarmament and International Security Committee (Artificial intelligence, nuclear proliferation and the technological divide in modern warfare) 🏛️ Historical Crisis Committee 🕊️ Human Rights Council (Eradicating contemporary slavery and transnational human trafficking in Asia Pacific and Sub Saharan Africa) 🤝 Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (Dismantling transnational mafia alliances linking Europe, Haiti and Latin America) 🩺 World Health Organization (Universal access to sexual and reproductive health services and reducing preventable maternal mortality) 💊 United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (Cartel networks and narco deforestation in the Amazon Basin)
