About the Conference

IPMUN, the Independent Prague Model United Nations Conference, is a student led conference in Prague that is not tied to any one school. Teams of student volunteers run it, covering the secretariat, design, procurement, public relations and registration. The 2026 edition, IPMUN26, runs from 4 to 7 December 2026 at three venues in Prague, Czech Republic. Ten committees meet over four days under the theme of embracing human diversity to ensure equal rights for every individual. Around 250 delegates are expected. The conference brings together delegates from many schools, and each committee is marked beginner, intermediate or advanced, so new and experienced delegates can find a fit. The programme mixes General Assembly committees with a Security Council, a Historical Security Council on Rwanda in 1994 and a crisis committee. In 2025 it used notable venues, including the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament. Committees 🩺 World Health Organization (Addressing the Issue of 'Forever Chemicals'; Assessing Insurance Companies and Universal Healthcare Systems) šŸ’Š United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (Addressing Forced Criminality and Modern Slavery: Combating Transnational Human Trafficking; Dismantling the Golden Triangle Nexus: Synthetic Drugs and Rise of Criminal Compounds) šŸ¤ Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Assessing Foreign Influence and State-Sponsored Terrorism in the Maghreb Region; Addressing the Issue of Neocolonialism and Debt Traps) šŸ›”ļø Security Council (Addressing the State Fragmentation and Instability of Somalia) šŸ•Šļø Human Rights Council (Creating a Framework for Implementing Humanitarian Corridors; Addressing the Freedom of Press and Journalism) šŸ›ļø Historical Security Council (Addressing the Rising Tensions between the Hutus and the Tutsis in Rwanda, 1994) šŸ’¼ Economic and Social Council (Evaluating the Role of OPEC in Influencing Global Oil Prices and Economic Stability; Addressing the Issues in Global Asylum Systems) šŸ›”ļø Disarmament and International Security Committee (Addressing the Use of Chemical Weapons in Modern Conflicts; Discussing the Protection of Sea Cables) 🚨 Crisis Committee (topic to be announced)
