Karinthy Model United Nations 2027

About the Conference

KarMUN is a school conference run by students of the Karinthy Frigyes bilingual secondary school in Budapest. It has been held every year since 2005 and describes itself as the first Model UN conference in Hungary. The 2027 edition takes place from 17 to 20 March at the school in the 18th district of Budapest, with the opening ceremony traditionally held in the Hungarian Parliament. Past editions have drawn about 150 to 200 students from around the world, and the theme this year is confident to persuade, prepared to compromise. It is open to students aged 14 to 19 and suits both beginners and experienced delegates. English is the main language, and for the sixth time there is also a committee run in German. Host families are available for a limited number of guests.
