About the Conference

The Leirion International Policy Forum is a diplomatic simulation run by Leirion, a non profit organisation that also runs a MUN Academy. It builds on the Model UN format but describes itself as a policy forum, with a day of academic programme before the committee sessions begin. The first edition takes place from 3 to 7 March 2027 at Global College Malta in Kalkara, Malta. The whole forum is built around one theme: how deglobalisation is changing the international energy market, from interdependence towards autonomy. Places are limited. Entry is selective: applicants are chosen on a CV, an interview and a policy brief. After keynotes, round tables and workshops on the first day, three bodies negotiate and draft policy, and the forum ends with a joint session in which all committees try to agree on a common response and vote on it. Committees šŸ’¼ United Nations Economic and Social Council (The impacts of deglobalisation on the international energy market) šŸ’¼ World Bank Group, Energy Global Department (The impacts of deglobalisation on the international energy market) šŸ’¼ International Energy Forum (The impacts of deglobalisation on the international energy market)
