Model WTO is a simulation of negotiations at the World Trade Organization, organised from St. Gallen in Switzerland. It has been held every year since 1997 and describes itself as the largest simulation of its kind in the world. The thirtieth edition runs from 7 to 14 April 2027 and is split between St. Gallen and Geneva, the home of the World Trade Organization. Students from many countries take the roles of trade negotiators and work through current questions of international trade. It is aimed at students who want to understand how the multilateral trading system works in practice. Unlike a standard Model UN conference, the whole week is built around trade negotiation rather than General Assembly style committees, which makes it a good next step for delegates interested in economics and trade law.
