About the Conference

Model United Nations Baden-Württemberg (MUNBW) is a German language UN simulation for young people, run by volunteers of Deutsche Model United Nations e.V., the non-profit association that also organises MUN-SH in Kiel. MUNBW is the association's oldest conference and has been held in Stuttgart every year since 2002. The next edition runs from 13 to 17 May 2027 in Stuttgart, with sessions at the Hospitalhof in the city centre. About 300 participants take part in six UN bodies, from the General Assembly to the Security Council, plus a simulated International Court of Justice. MUNBW is open to people aged roughly 15 to 21, whether at school, at university or in training, and no prior knowledge is needed. Participants apply as a state delegation, a judge or agent before the ICJ, a representative of a non-governmental organisation or a journalist for the conference press. The fee is expected to be 70 euros, covering meals and a diplomatic ball, with financial support available. Applications run from 2 November to 16 December 2026, and preparation includes an online briefing in February.
