About the Conference

MUNISA is the Model United Nations conference of the International School of Amsterdam, run by the school's MUN club with a student board of directors and student officers. It is held at the school in Amstelveen, just outside Amsterdam, and the delegate fee is 60 euros. The 2026 edition takes place on 21 and 22 November 2026 under the theme "The Fragility of International Order: Striving for Multipolarity". It is a two-day, in-person conference with an opening ceremony on Saturday, committee sessions across both days and a closing ceremony on Sunday afternoon. About 150 delegates are expected across seven committees, and the site publishes research reports for each one. It is open to school students aged 11 to 19, entering as part of a school group or as single delegates, and formal dress is required. The committee list is broad for a school event, with a G20, a special conference on colonial artefacts and a historical Security Council on the Kosovo War alongside the General Assembly committees. Committees šŸ›”ļø General Assembly First Committee, International Security and Disarmament (Maritime Jurisdiction and Territorial Waters Along the North Sea Route; Rising Extremist Movements Led by Non-State Actors) āš–ļø General Assembly Sixth Committee, Legal (Legal Frameworks for Regulating Private Military and Security Companies; Legal Frameworks Limiting Restrictions on Crucial Maritime Trade Routes) šŸ’¼ G20 (Standardizing Global Deregulation to Facilitate International Trade and Private-Sector Investment; The G20 and the Rapid Deployment of Artificial Intelligence in Industrial Manufacturing) šŸ›”ļø Security Council (The Rise of Non-State Armed Actors and Their Challenge to Sovereign Authority and Regional Stability) šŸ’¼ Economic and Social Council (Dismantling Institutional Marginalization Against Religious Minorities; The Impact of Protectionist Tariff Policies on Economic Development in Vulnerable States) šŸ¤ Special Conference (Repatriation Frameworks for Colonial Artifacts Held in Private Collections and Non-State Institutions; Balancing National Sovereignty, Host State Consent and International Intervention in Internal Conflicts) šŸ›ļø Historical Security Council (The Question of the Kosovo War, October 1999)
