Model United Nations Schleswig-Holstein (MUN-SH) is a UN simulation for young people held every year since 2005. It is a project of Deutsche Model United Nations e.V., a German non-profit association. The 2027 edition takes place from 4 to 8 March 2027 in the Landtag, the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein in Kiel. About 400 people take part each year across seven committees, as delegates of states, representatives of non-state actors or journalists. It is aimed at school students, university students and trainees aged roughly 15 to 21, and no prior knowledge of the UN is needed. The website and preparation materials are in German. In 2027 a UNESCO World Heritage Committee will, for the first time, nominate World Heritage sites alongside writing a resolution. Committees š”ļø General Assembly (Protection of Undersea Infrastructure in International Waters; Terrorist Violence in the Sahel) š”ļø Security Council (Proliferation of Armed Drone Technology to Non-State Actors; Conflict in West Papua) š¼ Economic and Social Council (Geopolitical Instrumentalisation of International Straits; Strengthening Sustainable Land Transport Corridors) š UNESCO (Artificial Intelligence in School Education; Preserving Customs and Traditions in Times of Global Migration) š¤ International Civil Aviation Organization (Securing Civil Aviation in War Zones; International Cooperation on Violent Passengers) šļø Human Rights Council (Human Rights Implications of Autonomous Weapon Systems; The Right to Privacy in Times of Digital Surveillance) š UNESCO World Heritage Committee (Climate Adaptation in the Setting of World Heritage Sites; Nomination of World Heritage Sites)
