About the Conference
Modell UNO Wien is a German-language Model United Nations conference for secondary school students in Austria. It is organised by the Verein zur Simulation internationaler Politik, a Vienna association founded in 2022 that took over the running of the conference. The 17th edition takes place from 15 to 17 February 2027. The first two days are held at the University of Vienna in the city centre, and the third day is planned for a conference room at the Vienna International Centre, the UN headquarters in Vienna. Around 270 students take part in twelve committees and a press committee. The conference is meant for students in grades 9 to 13 of Austrian AHS and BHS schools, and debate is in German. Pre-registration for the 2027 edition has already closed, so it suits schools that plan a year ahead.
