National Model United Nations New York is the spring conference of National Model United Nations (NMUN), a long running nonprofit programme that organises university level simulations of the United Nations. Students represent member states in committees modelled on real UN bodies, write position papers in advance and negotiate draft resolutions during the week. The 2027 edition takes place in New York City and runs as two separate sessions of the same conference: Session A from 21 to 25 March 2027 and Session B from 29 March to 2 April 2027. The 2026 edition brought together more than 4,240 university students, over half of them from outside the United States. Closing sessions have been held at UN Headquarters. The conference is meant for university students, usually attending as part of a faculty led delegation from their college or university. Alongside committee work, the programme includes visits to Permanent Missions to the UN and, for some sessions and subject to availability, UN Headquarters. Background guides for the 2027 committees are released in November.
