About the Conference

PyleaMUN is a Model United Nations conference for secondary school students in Thessaloniki, Greece. It is a non-profit educational project hosted and run entirely by a public state school. The second edition, PyleaMUN 2027, runs in person from 11 to 14 February 2027 in Thessaloniki. The first edition took place in January 2026. The 2027 conference has fifteen committees and around 400 delegates are expected. The programme opens with a ceremony and ambassador speeches on the Thursday evening, has two full committee days, and ends with a General Assembly session and an awards ceremony on the Sunday. The 2027 theme is The Universal Right to Truth, with a focus on international norms against state-sponsored disinformation. Almost every agenda looks at truth, technology and information, from deep fakes and AI weapons to climate disinformation and press freedom. Eight committees also prepare the General Assembly topic. Schools register delegations and independent delegates can apply on their own. The programme also offers a historical crisis committee on Chernobyl and the Cuban Missile Crisis, and a tribunal that debates trials from ancient history.
