About the Conference

The Stanford Model United Nations Conference (SMUNC) is a Model UN conference organised and staffed by students at Stanford University, who chair the committees and run the weekend on campus. SMUNC XXX, the 30th edition, runs from 6 to 8 November 2026 on the Stanford University campus in Stanford, California, United States. It is held fully in person, with 19 committees across General Assembly, specialised and crisis formats. Registration for this edition has closed. It is aimed at school delegations, which must bring at least one adult advisor who stays on campus for the whole conference. Two General Assembly bodies are marked as beginner friendly, crisis committees are run on paper without laptops, and a limited amount of need-based financial aid is offered. The conference raises money for CURE Epilepsy.
