University of North Carolina Model United Nations Conference 2026

About the Conference

UNCMUNC is the collegiate Model United Nations conference of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, run by the Carolina International Relations Association. The university has hosted Model UN simulations since 1938. The seventeenth edition runs from 19 to 22 November 2026 on the UNC Chapel Hill campus in North Carolina. It has 17 committees, which the organisers describe as their largest slate so far, and about 450 delegates are expected. Any college or university may send delegates and no Model UN team is needed, since independent delegates can register. Position papers are not required in any committee. The slate leans heavily on crisis, with traditional and non traditional crises and a three way joint crisis committee, alongside historical and specialised bodies, plus a social event on Friday and Saturday night.
