DazooMun is a simulation of the United Nations, organised by youth for the youth. Delegates young students) come together to discuss, exchange ideas, and find solutions to global problems, adopting the role of a UN Diplomat and defending their assigned country's stance. Our Conference is the second MUN to be held at a public school and the first-ever to be held at Dasoupoli Lyceum. Our Conference aims to bring over a hundred young people together to discuss and find solutions to pressing global issues that foremost affect our own country, Cyprus. For this reason, the Conference will be held under the theme: ‘Because United Nations start with United People - Uniting People through our Cypriot identity.’ Guided by this theme, we decided to explore issues concerning Cyprus across all Committees, with the ultimate aim of fostering a constructive dialogue among the young people of our island that will bring the two communities closer together. In this Conference, we plan to foster discussions and debates that will not only touch on frontline issues, but additionally address problems that have arisen in our Cypriot society, aiming for the youth -our future- to approach them holistically and explore solutions while maintaining respect, understanding and a sense of unity. We also aim to offer all students the opportunity to engage in projects such as this one, no matter their socioeconomic background, because, as we say at DAZOOMUN, 'United Nations start with United People’.
